Better known as the "Lake District", the Salzkammergut region of Austria is surrounded by truly magnificent scenery with beautiful lakes, lush pastures and towering snow-capped mountains. The small town of Altmunster is situated on the shore of Lake Traunsee and offers an ideal location from which to explore this area. Our excursions include the picturesque town of Traunkirchen where we have included a visit to the 12th century Jesuit Monastery. There is a guided tour of Vienna, a historic city full of charm with ornate buildings at every turn. We tour through some of the breathtaking scenery around Salzkammergut Lakes, visiting a number of places along the way. We have also arranged a guided tour of Salzburg, one of Europe's most enchanting cities. The birthplace of Mozart and the setting for "The Sound of Music", it is also a charming baroque city, dominated by church steeples and quaint courtyards. There is also leisure time to explore Altmunster.

Hotel:

THE ALPENHOTEL - The Alpenhotel is located within the centre of Altmunster and has spectacular views over Lake Traunsee. This elegant hotel offers guests a warm welcome, with the friendly, professional staff on hand to ensure you have a relaxing stay. The chic restaurant serves a delicious, four-course dinner each evening. For your convenience there is a lift in the hotel.
