The highlight of this tour is a visit to Shugborough Hall and Estate, which dates from 1695 and is now home to the Earls of Lichfield. The visit includes a guided tour and light lunch in the Mansion House. We spend a day exploring Staffordshire and Derbyshire, visiting the market town of Ashbourne, The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas and the town of Litchfield, once capital of the Kingdom of Mercia and famous for its Gothic cathedral, dating from 1195.
