Southport is a charming Victorian resort, with beautiful gardens and floral displays, wide sandy beaches and stylish architecture. Lord Street is a shoppers paradise, with the retail outlets set in elegant Victorian arcades. Our excursions include Hoghton Hall, the ancestral home of the De Hoghton family since William the Conqueror, with its magnificent banqueting hall where King James I in 1617 knighted the Loin of Beef 'Sirloin' . View the beautiful King's antechamber, ballroom, King's bedchamber and other staterooms. Come and see the Tudor Well house, underground passages, wine cellar, dungeons, grounds and gardens. We have arranged a guided tour of Liverpool taking in some of the many landmarks, followed by leisure time. We visit the market town of Ormskirk, and the conservation village of Port Sunlight, founded in 1888 by Lord Lever to house his soap factory workers.
