Opened in 1854 the museum is one of the few places in the world to house such a diverse collection under one roof.
Some of the objects are rare and precious, others are made significant by the people who once owned them or the journeys they have made. Some are old and mysterious, others were made recently, specially for the collection, but all have a story to tell. Is your favourite exhibit here?
