The Battles which took place in Flanders and The Somme from 1914 - 1918 were on a massive scale and left thousands dead. Our tour is based near Ypres, perhaps the war's most famous site. We include entry to the In Flanders Field Museum, the reconstructed cloth hall, now a powerful museum dedicated to the war and other conflicts since. We spend a day visiting The Somme, including Thiepval Memorial, Beaumont Hamel and the Canadian Memorial and Vimy Ridge. We also visit the town of Passchendale and Tyne Cot Cemetry.

Hotel:

BW AMBASSADOR HOTEL MENEN . The Ambassador is a 4 star hotel located in the pretty town of Menen, at the heart of "Western Front Country". It is situated a 5 - 10 minute walk from the town's market place. It has 30 comfortable bedrooms, a bar, lounge and pleasant restaurant with a view of the small gardens. Menen is 13 miles from Ypres, and the famous Menen gate, which is named after the town.
