This weekend break gives you two full days at leisure to explore and visit the many attractions. You can experience life in an historic street at the Jorvik Centre, walk part of the famous Bar Walls and admire the mighty York Minster. The largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe the York Minster is full of intricate carvings and vast stained glass windows. A visit to York would not be complete without a walk through the area known as the "Shambles". Here you will see ancient buildings leaning in all directions! If you're looking for some retail therapy head for the city centre, along its maze of winding streets you will find a wide selection of shops.

THE NEWINGTON HOTEL - The Newington Hotel is situated close to York's centre and has a local bus service passing the door. Originally three Georgian townhouses, this hotel retains much of the original charm and character while incorporating modern comforts. The restaurant caters for a variety of tastes, with the dishes prepared using local produce. The hotel leisure facilities are the ideal place to relax and include an indoor pool and sauna. For your convenience there is a lift in the main hotel to most floors.
