The city of York has long been one of England's most popular holiday destinations. Founded nearly 2,000 years ago by the Romans, this city has a lot to offer visitors. You can experience an historic street at the Jorvik Centre, walk part of the famous Bar Walls and admire the mighty York Minster. The York Minster, which is the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe, is full of intricate carvings and vast stained glass windows. A visit to this city would not be complete without a walk through the well-known "Shambles". Our excursions include a half day guided tour of this fascinating city and a full day guided tour of "Herriot Country", visiting some areas of Yorkshire used on the popular TV show. We travel to Brymor, Askrigg, Rippon and Thirsk where you can visit the "World of Herriot" Museum. Situated in the actual 'Skeldale House' in the 1940's, it includes sets of the TV Series, "All Creatures Great and Small". There is also leisure time in York.Hotel:
